About The Position

The role is within the collaborative and energetic MS1 general surgical unit team at Aurora Medical Center Grafton, an 18-bed med/surg unit specializing in general surgical postop care. The patient population includes gastroenterology, urology, general surgery, ENT, gynecology, bariatric, and general medical care. Aurora Medical Center Grafton is a 132-bed facility recognized for healthcare, offering private patient rooms, comfortable family areas, meditation gardens, and a cafeteria. It provides specialized services in cardiovascular health, women’s services, orthopedics, emergency medicine, surgery, and neuroscience, and is undergoing a significant expansion with a new patient tower opening in 2027. Advocate Health is the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, employing 155,000 teammates across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication.
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
