About The Position

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking registered nurses to join its Operating Room team. The role provides nursing care in a collaborative, patient-centered, fast-paced surgical environment, including care for patients with complex and critical needs at the area's only Level I Trauma Center. The RN manages care throughout the patient's stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge, using the nursing process, coordinating and delegating care, providing appropriate physical care, and documenting and communicating patient responses and anticipated needs. Direct-care employees must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. The RN assesses patients, identifies problems, develops individualized plans and expected outcomes, implements and evaluates interventions, and collaborates with patients, families, and other professionals. The role also includes professional development, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, patient advocacy, and contributions to a healthy work environment. Scrub RN responsibilities include preparing supplies and equipment for procedures, anticipating physician and surgical-team needs, monitoring changes in the patient and operative field, maintaining proper equipment use, and serving as a resource to circulators. Scrub RNs may work across multiple services and are assigned rotational after-hours call. This is a general posting; after applying, Talent Acquisition will contact candidates to discuss experience, interests, and scheduling preferences.
