About The Position

This role involves collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary team members to deliver appropriate client care. The Registered Nurse (RN) will also assist with the coordination of the psychiatrist’s/nurse practitioner’s daily activities.

Requirements

Must be licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
Ability to perform basic nursing assessments

Nice To Haves

Psychiatric/Behavioral Health nursing and healthcare technology experience preferred

Responsibilities

Take person(s)-served vital signs.
Manage written prescription documentation.
Manage medication injections and documentation.
Manage Patient Assistance for all medications for the Prescribers.
Complete prior authorizations for Medicare/Medicaid/insurances for the Prescribers.
Answer phone calls/voice mail regarding medications and notify Prescriber of adverse reactions.
Actively respond to emails regarding medications for person(s) served.
Handle requests for records/discharge summaries as requested by Prescriber.
Perform metabolic screenings for person(s) served.
Administer Tuberculosis (TB) testing for staff.
Maintain medication list for new person(s) served.
Actively work refill requests from pharmacy(s).
Perform screenings per Prescriber's request.
Perform blood/urine collections as requested by Prescriber(s).
Request lab results and follow up with reported results.
Call in prescriptions and refill medications as needed and directed by the Prescriber.
Weekly updates on sample medication inventory and storage as well as quarterly inventory report.
Maintain sample medication orders.
Maintain list of discharged person(s) served and medication refills provided.
Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
