About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides care to patients in Texas Health Dallas’s Behavioral Health Department, a busy outpatient clinic with Partial Hospital Programs and an Intensive Out-Patient Program. The programs serve adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs. Nurses collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the safety and treatment of patients in the day hospital program, participate in treatment team meetings as needed, and teach nursing groups three times a week for women’s, co-ed, and chemical dependency groups. The role delivers patient care using the Nursing Process: assessing patients, planning care, implementing appropriate interventions, and evaluating their effectiveness. Nurses incorporate age-specific safety and infection-control measures, address patients’ and significant others’ need for information, and maintain continuity of care across shifts and hospitals, including during out-of-hospital transfers.
