About The Position

The Registered Nurse on the Invasive Cardiology Prep/Recovery team provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills, the RN helps create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The team supports a high-acuity cardiovascular service line at Advocate Health’s flagship Charlotte campus. It provides pre-procedure and post-procedure care for inpatient and outpatient patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, heart failure, and vascular procedures across eight procedural suites. The patient population includes people receiving coronary and peripheral interventions, electrophysiology procedures, structural heart therapies, heart failure treatments, and mechanical circulatory support therapies. This fast-paced, team-based environment calls for critical thinking, advanced assessment skills, flexibility, efficiency, and collaborative care. Nurses work with physicians, advanced practice providers, anesthesia professionals, and procedural staff to prepare patients safely for procedures and provide recovery care following moderate sedation, anesthesia, and complex cardiovascular interventions. The role may require performing multiple EP Lab functions, including recording, circulating, and scrubbing procedures. The position is based at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no holidays and on-call duty every 13th Saturday/Sunday.
