About The Position

This is a Night Shift position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, care planning, intervention, and monitoring across various age groups. The nurse will collaborate with healthcare professionals, educate patients and families, and mentor junior staff. Key responsibilities also include adhering to regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and ethical standards, upholding the mission and values of Gritman Medical Center.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Idaho or a compact state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).
Minimum two (2) years in Emergency Medicine required.
Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology.
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN).

Responsibilities

Perform thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Implement nursing interventions based on patient needs and physician orders.
Provide age-appropriate nursing care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.
Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively.
Communicate patient status and changes to physicians and other healthcare providers.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs.
Educate and mentor nursing students, novice nurses, and peers.
