About The Position

Boone Supported Living provides residential and in-home services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our nursing team plays a critical role in supporting individuals to live safe, healthy, and independent lives in community settings. This position combines clinical nursing, training, delegation, and program support. This is not a hospital nursing job. This is a leadership and community-based nursing role where you will help build systems, train staff, and oversee medical supports for multiple homes. The Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the medical and health services of individuals supported by Boone Supported Living. The RN will provide nursing oversight, perform staff delegation for medical procedures, review medical documentation, coordinate with healthcare providers, and assist with staff training including medication aide and CPR/First Aid instruction. This position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys independence, teaching, problem solving, and building systems rather than working in a traditional clinical setting.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel between program locations
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to teach, train, and supervise staff

Responsibilities

  • Review and oversee medical services for individuals in residential programs.
  • Perform nursing delegation to DSP staff for approved medical procedures in accordance with state regulations.
  • Train and monitor staff on delegated medical tasks and ensure competency.
  • Review MARs, physician orders, medication storage, and medical documentation.
  • Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, therapists, and other medical providers.
  • Monitor health changes and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
  • Assist with medical appointments, labs, and health tracking systems.
  • Complete health inventories, medical reviews, and required documentation.
  • Assist with new admissions and medical transitions for individuals moving into services.
  • Investigate and report medical incidents and concerns.
  • Provide guidance to management regarding medical and health-related needs.
  • Become a Level I Medication Aide Instructor (certifications can be obtained after hire).
  • Become an American Red Cross Instructor (CPR/First Aid) (certifications can be obtained after hire).
  • Teach and test Level I Medication Aide students.
  • Teach CPR and First Aid classes.
  • Provide specialized medical training and delegation training to staff.
