About The Position

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The role uses organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, and develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes. The RN uses a diverse medical skillset and helps ensure a safe, therapeutic environment. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team, collects vital signs, administers IV medications, documents care, and assesses patient condition. The nurse evaluates, updates, and revises plans of care to support planned outcomes and administers medications safely in accordance with the State of Practice and Bon Secours policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

One year of RN experience is required.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; it must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
