About The Position

The Hoy Center at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay takes a holistic approach to skilled nursing care and aging. Our person-centric living aligns the delivery of care with individual needs and preferences. The Hoy features home-like, comfortable settings, which we call Lighthouses, each with a family room and e-concept kitchen. These modern and open private rooms are comfortable, well-appointed and tastefully designed. The Lighthouses include the Rose Island, Mission Point, Point Lookout, Cape Henry and Point Roberts. Residents on each floor enjoy breathtaking views and refreshing ocean breezes on three spacious and striking outdoor terraces, we call Observation Decks. The Fletcher Prayer Room, which provides a dedicated, peaceful sanctuary for contemplation and prayer is also available to our residents. As an RN in our beautiful Long-Term center on the Chesapeake Bay, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating clinical care, and ensuring exceptional resident outcomes. Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Virginia (or compact).
  • A minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Must be proficient with all software applications and systems utilized in The Hoy Center.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize and inform the appropriate physician of significant changes in the resident's health status and for adverse reaction(s) to medication.
  • Maintain medication and resident's records.
  • Participate in resident assessment and care planning reviews and revise residents' assessments and care plans.
  • Insure problems and complaints involving nursing services are reported to the Team Leader in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate care with residents and their families/significant others.
  • Document and lead others in the documentation of resident care.
  • Direct, participates and/or assists staff in delivering care.
  • Check for appropriate amount and condition of equipment and supplies; order supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Support and participate in facility quality assurance programs.
  • Ensure that unit practices are consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Review, transcribe and implement physician orders.
  • Practice and ensure staff adheres to infection control measures.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain competency.
  • All other duties as assigned.
