About The Position

BrightStar Care is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a private duty assignment in Huffman, Texas. The RN will implement the physician-ordered plan of care, delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered services. Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray, as required
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Reliable transportation
  • Hands-on experience with straight catheterizations
  • Hands-on experience with enteral feedings
  • Hands-on experience with Baclofen pump management

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) or more years of nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and the established plan of care.
  • Assess patient condition and monitor for changes in health status.
  • Utilize critical thinking and sound clinical judgment to address patient needs and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Administer treatments, medications, and specialized nursing procedures within the RN scope of practice.
  • Perform and manage enteral feeding regimens and catheterization procedures as required.
  • Monitor and maintain Baclofen pump therapy according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the care team regarding patient status and care needs.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Follow all agency policies, procedures, infection control standards, and nursing practice regulations.
  • Promote patient safety, dignity, comfort, and independence in the home environment.
  • Treat patients, families, caregivers, and team members with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
