Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Clatsop Care, you’ll lead and provide patient-centered care in our Skilled and Intermediate Units, working under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS). You’ll oversee daily operations for your assigned shift, managing resident care and supporting staff to ensure a safe, comfortable, and caring environment.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon License as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current CPR training.
  • Able to ambulate, stoop, bend, squat and move a maximum of 60 pounds during routine care for residents for an 8-hour shift.
  • Visual and Auditory activity within normal limits with or without prosthetics.
  • Frequent walking and transport of residents.
  • Push and pull wheelchairs and other equipment.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and harmonious work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Care Leadership: Oversee patient care with a focus on high standards and compassionate service. Perform physical, psychological, and social assessments and communicate updates to physicians, families, and care teams as needed.
  • Direct Patient Care: Administer IV therapy, medications, and treatments per physician orders. Provide care for residents needing ostomy and catheter care, tube feedings, and insulin injections.
  • Team Supervision: Assign duties to nursing personnel based on patient and unit needs. Provide leadership, guidance, and, if needed, corrective actions to maintain quality care and policy compliance.
  • Crisis Response: Initiate emergency procedures when necessary, documenting patient care and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
