About The Position

Assists provider and hospital staff in assessing, planning, and providing acute care for patients in need of preventive or interventional skin care and wound management. Oversees and evaluates the effectiveness of such interventions. Provides education and management of patients with new or existing ostomies. Collaborates with other health care team members in the planning, coordination, and facilitation of the plan of care based on current and projected patient needs. Attends committee meetings to report on Pressure Injuries and to develop strategies associated with prevention and reduction in Pressure Injury rates. Coordinates annual IPUP survey, submits data, reports on results, and works with Nursing Leaders on action plans, as needed. Exhibits Service Excellence at all times. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Current American Heart Association or America Red Cross BLS at start date
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse License
  • Ostomy certification required or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of 1 year in pressure injury prevention and treatment
  • Wound Care certification required or completed within 6 months of hire
