About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Roper St. Francis Healthcare! This Registered Nurse (RN) position is for the Postpartum unit at Berkeley Hospital and is a Weekend Only Plan role. The position requires 24 scheduled weekly hours, with a work shift during evenings/nights (7:00 pm - 7:30 am) on weekends only. The role involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, identification of patient problems/needs, and evaluation of care outcomes. The RN will also coordinate and provide patient teaching and collaborate with health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the RN conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates its effectiveness. They administer medications safely and serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments. The RN also acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Prior mom/baby RN experience
BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
Valid nursing license from the state of practice
Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required)
Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations
Nursing judgment and skill based on principles of the biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences
Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery
Coordination of patient care delivery
Evaluation of professional nursing practice to optimize goals and outcomes

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
