Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho or approved Compact State.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required- must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
  • PICC certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire.
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Effective Interperonal Communication skills and demontrated organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • National Certification/Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC)

Responsibilities

  • This position is accountable for the provision of safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care assuring patients have the most appropriate vascular access. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Assess patients for short, mid and long term vascular access devices (VAD). Place and assist in maintaining the most appropriate VAD.
  • Use of ultrasound guidance (USG) in placement ofn VAD.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in the following age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
  • Documents thoroughly, following regulatory and hospital requirements.
  • Participates in the responsible management of health care resources.
  • Assumes responsibility for clinical competency and professional development.
