About The Position

University Hospitals St John Medical Center is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join their team across various shift opportunities. They welcome both new graduate RNs and experienced RNs who are eager to grow, make an impact, and advance their careers in a supportive, patient-focused environment. UH St John Medical Center has proudly served western Cuyahoga and Easter Lorain Counties with high quality Healthcare since 1981. Their 190-bed, full-service hospital offers comprehensive medical and surgical care for children and adults. UH St John Medical Center is one of the largest employers of the city of Westlake, employing over 1,200 Northeast Ohio residents, including more than 500 Medical Providers trained in primary and specialty care services. UH St John remains a teaching hospital and is committed to its faith-based mission and the provision of excellence in patient care. The hospital is looking for RNs for the following units: Medical Surgical 4th Floor, Medical ICU, Step Down, Emergency Department, 3 South, and 3 North.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
  • Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.
  • Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
  • Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
  • Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
  • Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
