Registered Nurse (RN) – Urology Clinic, Outpatient
About The Position
This position is for a capable clinician focused on expanding knowledge and skills. The Registered Nurse (RN) consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. They manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the health care team. The role involves seeking and providing feedback for improved clinical practice and assumes a beginning leadership role while seeking mentoring in this process. This job description integrates the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, with the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model. Key principles include Relationship Based Care (Self and Colleagues, Patients and Families), Expert Caring, Empowered Leaders, Lifelong Learners, Quality Achievement, and Innovation. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
