About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a passionate and dedicated RN Unit Supervisor to join our Adolescent Psychiatry Unit on the night shift. This is a full-time position with a 3 x 12-hour shift schedule (7:00 pm to 7:30 am). Inova is a national healthcare leader in safety, quality, and patient experience, and a recognized top employer. Therapeutic group activities, including creative art therapy, are integral to our patient-centered approach. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1. The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve clinical operations. They embrace and understand research behind nursing practice and quality tools, support unit-based shared governance, and act as a role model for 'Service Always' and patient experience. They seek opportunities to meet unique patient needs and serve as an engaged team member, empowering Inova's 'People Priority' through care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring, and encouragement.

Requirements

  • Certification - Basic Life Support
  • Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 3 months of hire
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN)

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years previous inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
  • Previous charge/leadership experience preferred
  • Previous department council/committee experience preferred
