About The Position

Sentara Obici is looking for a Unit Coordinator on 3 North General Med Surg. The Medical-Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital is a great place to learn and grow, supported by a longstanding leadership team and strong preceptors dedicated to mentoring new nurses. The Med Surg has a 21-bed unit and sees all types of patients, offering a good variety. This unit provides a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses seeking to enhance their skillset. Unit coordinators are on staff, ensuring smooth operations and quality patient care. Requirements

  • RN-Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Experienced RN 18 months nursing experience required

Nice To Haves

  • RN-Master’s Degree
  • ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
  • Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.
  • Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
