About The Position

Manages patient assignments and flow within the General Surgery Clinic. Provides oversight of patient care to support patient and staff needs. Serves as a lead, clinical resource, role model, and extension of management to uphold institutional priorities, policies, and practices. This role is part of a nationally recognized Academic Medical Center set in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, offering a rigorous, research-focused environment and a strong shared governance nursing model.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• BSN required.
• 2 years of related supervisory/management experience.
• Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies as appropriate.
• Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills required.
• Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility, and teamwork.
• Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assigns staff to patients per current clinic workload, considering acuity, staff experience and competency, learning needs, and patient acuity/complexity.
• Participates in performance management of staff members, including coaching, preparation of performance evaluations, and the performance management process. Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Addresses conflicts as they may arise and assists/mediates to maintain smooth operations of the clinic.
• Performs service recovery to promote patient and employee retention.
• Facilitates orientation and training for employees.
• Serves as liaison with other persons/departments/clinics concerning services offered by the office.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
