Registered Nurse (RN), Special Procedures Area
About The Position
This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Special Procedures Area is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, with a day shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. There is an option for a weekly rotation between five 8-hour days and four 10-hour days. The role involves minimal on-call requirements, with one weeknight call shift every 2-3 weeks and one weekend call shift every 12-14 weekends. The Special Procedures RN utilizes five procedural suites to provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to both inpatients and outpatients. These procedures include bronchoscopy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, motility and ph studies, breath hydrogen testing, and pill cam studies. Requirements
- ADN or BSN degree
- Licensed as RN in State of Illinois
- Current BLS/CPR certification per policy
- Ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient
- Sufficient gross coordination to perform other patient care duties as required
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials is part of the working conditions.
