This role involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, identification of patient problems/needs, and evaluation of care. The nurse will coordinate and direct patient teaching and collaborate with health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the nurse conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates its effectiveness. Responsibilities include administering medications safely, serving as a point of contact for patient care coordination, and acting as a patient safety advocate through quality improvement participation. The role is within the Maternal & Infant Services Department, specifically the Level II Intermediate Nursery at St. Francis Hospital.
