About The Position

The Acute Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients across various acute care units. As a Float Pool RN, you will be a valued member of our team, bringing flexibility, adaptability, and specialized clinical skills to support units where your expertise is needed most. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience required.
  • Current Louisiana RN license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Current BLS
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in multiple specialty areas strongly preferred (e.g., trauma, neuro, cardiac, surgical, or telemetry).
  • Specialty certification(s) in areas such as CCRN, TCRN, or Stroke Nursing (NIHSS) encouraged.
  • Previous Float Pool or travel nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated success in working across multiple clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered nursing care across a variety of acute care units.
  • Rapidly assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrate clinical adaptability when transitioning between specialties and patient populations.
  • Serve as a resource for staff, promoting best practices in alignment with Magnet principles and academic learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Precept nursing students and new graduate nurses.
