About The Position

Join Community Health Network, an organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to our neighbors. We have an excellent opportunity for nurses in the ICU Unit at Community North. This role involves a 13-week assignment, working three 12-hour night shifts per week, offering the pay of a travel RN without the travel. This is a challenging and meaningful opportunity to work in an exciting, fast-paced medical/surgical ICU environment caring for the highest acuity of patients, including those with craniotomies, total radical necks, and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. You will gain experience with ventilators, chest tubes, drips, dialysis, trachs, and more. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a team in this split 34-bed unit to care for critically ill patients.

Requirements

  • Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network.
  • Demonstration of skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.
  • Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • At least three full years of recent ICU-level RN experience.
  • Proficiency in the care of mechanical ventilation, CRRT, Lead II Cardiac Monitor interpretation, sepsis, DKA, CIWA, cardiac arrest and acute stroke patients.
  • Current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a fast-paced medical/surgical ICU environment.
  • Care for patients with high acuity conditions including craniotomies, total radical necks, and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
  • Gain experience with ventilators, chest tubes, drips, dialysis, and trachs.
  • Collaborate with a team in a split 34-bed unit.
  • Care for the sickest patients.
  • May be placed on call and/or float to other units as needed.
