Where you will work Patient Population: Elective and urgent/emergent surgical patients Surgeries include orthopedics, Our specialties include, Breast, plastics, ENT, Urology, general, some vascular, gyn, robot, orthopedics and podiatry. Culture: Collaborative, supportive, and cohesive Skill Mix: Experienced nurses with a variety of backgrounds; ED, Med Surg, ICU
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS, PALS
- 1-2 years nursing experience; Med Surg, ED, Peri-Op Experience
- ACLS and PALS required by completion of orientation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly.
- Educate patients and families adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.
- Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
- Lead and delegate effectively fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.
