About The Position

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Rehabilitation RN joining their team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This is a 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and the only acute inpatient rehab option in the area, serving a diverse population with a wide range of diagnoses. The team practices a strong interdisciplinary approach, allowing nurses to work closely with therapy, physicians, and case management to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. They maintain a supportive work environment with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1, promoting quality care and professional growth.

Requirements

• Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
• Associate's degree required.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• One-year previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
