About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care through assessments, nursing interventions, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. The role also involves maintaining facility equipment, supplies and work areas, assisting in the orientation of new employees, coordinating and supervising activities of employees and department operations, and participating in performance/process improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BCLS required
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs.
  • Critical thinking
  • Work well under pressure while keeping calm and maintaining customer focus
  • Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer.
  • Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • ACLS preferred
  • CRRN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify individual care needs.
  • Initiate and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Deliver care appropriate to the condition and age of each patient.
  • Document medical necessity and nursing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for assigned patients.
  • Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas.
  • Assists in the orientation of new employees.
  • Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations.
  • Participates in performance/process improvement activities.
