Registered Nurse (RN) Rehabilitation
About The Position
The Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Rehabilitation unit. This full-time, days position focuses on providing superior patient care. The role involves patient assessments, identifying needs, initiating nursing interventions, and providing age-appropriate care. Accurate and timely documentation, including the Interdisciplinary Care Plan, is crucial. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams, and attention to detail in clinical documentation is essential.
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Nice To Haves
- One year of Rehab and/or Med Surg experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
