About The Position

The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. It also incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts and facilities.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma required OR Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
• BCLS prior to hire
• BCPMHN upon hire required
• ACPI (30 days within hire)
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• One year of Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans for the care of the patient
• Interventions as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
