About The Position

Radiology RN's coverage areas are all imaging procedures which include CT; MRI; Fluoroscopy; Nuclear Medicine; Breast Imaging support of variety of procedures which can include pre/post calls; anesthesia/sedation recovery; etc. We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to those we serve at Loyola Medicine. Requirements

  • A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
  • BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
  • Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for all imaging procedures including CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, and Breast Imaging.
  • Support a variety of procedures, which may include pre/post calls, anesthesia/sedation recovery.
  • Perform IV access, including for difficult access patients.
  • Administer medications.
  • Monitor and manage patients during and after sedation.
  • Conduct pre- and post-procedure assessments, including lab clearance.
  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Recognize basic telemetry rhythms.
  • Rapidly identify patient deterioration.
  • Escalate appropriately using RRT and code protocols.
  • Implement infection prevention measures, especially for procedural breast imaging.
  • Provide high-level patient education regarding procedures, risks, and consent support.
  • Manage patient anxiety.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
