About The Position

Alluvion Health is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work closely with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and support patients receiving psychiatric and behavioral health care. This is an outpatient nursing role for an RN who understands the unique needs of patients experiencing mental health conditions and is comfortable supporting psychiatric medication management, patient education, follow-up, care coordination, and communication between patients and their provider. If you have psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience and want a Tuesday–Friday position where you can build meaningful relationships with patients and be part of an integrated care team, we’d love to meet you.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse degree.
  • Current Montana RN license or ability to obtain licensure prior to hire.
  • Previous nursing experience working with patients with psychiatric, mental health, or behavioral health conditions.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate when working with patients experiencing behavioral health or psychiatric concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • One or more years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
  • Experience supporting a Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or other behavioral health provider.
  • Experience with psychiatric medication management and outpatient behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

  • Complete patient intake, assessments, medication reconciliation, screenings, and clinical documentation.
  • Assess patients and communicate changes in psychiatric symptoms, behavior, physical health, or medication response to the provider.
  • Support psychiatric medication management, including refill requests, prior authorizations, medication education, and follow-up.
  • Monitor and communicate medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and adherence concerns.
  • Administer medications, injections, treatments, and testing according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Provide compassionate patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, symptoms, and follow-up care.
  • Recognize and appropriately escalate urgent behavioral health, psychiatric, or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate care with the Psychiatric NP, behavioral health providers, primary care teams, pharmacies, specialists, and community resources.
  • Support patient follow-up and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide professional, compassionate, and nonjudgmental care to every patient.
