About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Adult Behavioral Health Unit. This 19-bed unit treats a variety of diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. The role involves working collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred
• Compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Crisis Intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
