About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions. This role is for the Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males) and involves full-time night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts from 7p-7:30a. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The hospital offers a fast, streamlined interview process with flexible scheduling and quick decision-making.

Requirements

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient condition and document care in the EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric crises using appropriate de-escalation and intervention techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide patient education.
• Implement seclusion and restraint procedures in accordance with policy when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
