About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care. This is a PRN position with variable hours, requiring 12-hour shifts as needed. Shifts can be days (7a-7p) or nights (7p-7a), including weekends and holidays. Harris Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a dedicated RN to join their 12-bed Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry unit. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 and is staffed with RNs, CNAs, and Telemetry Techs. They provide specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions, utilizing advanced monitoring technology to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS required within six months of hire
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

  • One year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
