About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join their Progressive Care team. This is a full-time night shift position, Monday through Friday, with some weekend shifts required, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The hospital is a 183-bed acute-care community hospital, nationally recognized for safety, quality, and patient experience, and is committed to fostering a team-oriented atmosphere with opportunities for leadership development. They are looking for open-minded, critically thinking nurses with acute care experience.

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in Progressive Care and Cardiac Telemetry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
