This is a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) position for the Med/Surg unit, with varying hours and a schedule that is per diem. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with action taken as needed. Medication administration, treatment, and therapy administration are part of the role, adhering to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The RN is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications. Ethical decision-making, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and contribution to integrated, unbiased patient care are also key. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel is required, along with accurate and timely EHR documentation. The role may require floating to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles and assessing patient needs based on age-specific requirements.
