This role provides safe, competent care for persons with wound, skin and ostomy needs. It involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment of wound, skin, and ostomy patients in collaboration with the healthcare team. The position also facilitates education/training, planning, organization, and implementation within the hospital, acting as a resource for hospital staff regarding wound/skin/ostomy care. Participation in performance improvement processes is expected to ensure competent nursing care related to wound, skin, and ostomy care.
