About The Position
The Registered Nurse will provide perioperative patient care. This includes reviewing patient charts, understanding orders (lab, radiology, H&P, consents), explaining procedures and discharge instructions to patients and families, documenting assessments and care plans in the electronic record, administering medications, and preparing the Pre-OP/PACU – I and II for necessary supplies and equipment. The nurse must maintain constant awareness of patient safety needs and assist with patient transfers of care from the OR.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support
- Registered Nurse
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Minimum 2 years of Pre-Op/PACU experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative patient care.
- Review patient charts, including lab orders and results, radiology orders and results, H & P’s and updates, and consents.
- Explain procedures, treatment, and discharge instructions to patients and family members to alleviate apprehension and verify understanding.
- Document patient assessment in the electronic patient record and nursing care plan.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Prepare Pre-OP/PACU – I and II for needed supplies and equipment.
- Maintain awareness of patient’s safety needs at all times.
- Assist with patient’s transfer of care from the OR.
