About The Position

Specialty Post Surgical - As a nurse, you can never expect any day to be the same on this unit. We care for a wide variety of surgical patients (ortho, neurosurgery, bariatric, plastics, and colorectal, surgical oncology). We are a fast-paced environment that allows nurses to gain experience with prioritization, critical thinking, other skills not learned in nursing school, and training to become an ICU RN. Typically, patients stay for 2-4 days. It is a 32-bed unit, all private rooms. There are many opportunities for leadership training (charge nurse) and participation on unit-based committees. Loyola University Medical Center is located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago! We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to those we serve at Loyola University Medical Center. Requirements

A Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing is required.
BSN or ADN
BLS provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire.
Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

1 year of experience (preferred – we do welcome New Grads!)
