As a Resource Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide care to patients throughout our facility. Banner Desert Medical Center is a level 1 trauma designated facility. Our resource nurses are competent within at least two service lines, are highly skilled, have the ability to be flexible and are open to the many education and growth opportunities provided. Clinical Care Operations is the hub of patient management for the campus, including: bed assignment, unit staffing, house supervision, emergency preparedness (code events and internal disasters), patient transports, dispatch, and data analysis. Several employee groups report to this department, including clinical positions such as RN House Senior Managers, SWAT RNs, and Resource Team (RNs, NAs, PCAs, HUCs, and BHTs) plus non-clinical roles such as Office Supervisor, Transport Supervisor, Dispatchers, Placement Reps, and Information Specialists. As a Pediatric SWAT RN (Specialized Workforce and Transport), you will serve as a critical resource to all of the pediatric units. In this role, you’ll respond to emergency calls, Rapid Responses, and Code Blue events, assist with complex nursing procedures, and provide expert clinical support and education across departments. You will also evaluate and coordinate higher level of care transfers, ensure safe patient transport, and support ongoing education to promote best practices. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
