The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs, and implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care. This role involves developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the RN conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, safely demonstrates basic knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, and provides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient (at designated units) pediatric nursing care where applicable. The nurse applies knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovations, utilizes nursing practice for the care of pediatric patients requiring nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventions, and evaluates, updates, and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes. Medications are administered safely and consistently with the State of Practice and organizational policies. This position will see overflow adult med surg patients on the pediatric unit. New grad RNs are welcome to apply within 6 months of graduation.
