About The Position

This full-time Registered Nurse position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at James and Connie Maynard Hospital offers an incentive bonus of up to $30,000. The PICU is a 12-bed unit with an ideal staffing ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, caring for critically ill pediatric patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, severe cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, sepsis, trauma, hematologic/oncologic complications, and those requiring ECMO or CRRT. The role involves providing and coordinating nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, with sensitivity to age-specific needs. The nurse will also promote and evaluate the healthcare team's functioning and delegate tasks as appropriate.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher
1+ years experience is required.
Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state
Health Care Provider is required.
Basic Life Support is required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors Degree is preferred.
Preferred experience in Pediatrics, ICU and Emergency Room.

Responsibilities

Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established standards.
Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Provide and coordinate nursing care, including collection and analysis of assessment data.
Identify expected outcomes and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team members.
Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement them, and evaluate patient/family progress.
Document the care process.
Provide care with sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs of the patient/family.
Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
Collaborate with health care team members to meet patient/family needs throughout the episode of care.
Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
