Registered Nurse (RN) PACU Job Type: FT | Day Wage scale: $42.14 – $78.11 per hour This is a Union Position. Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS, ACLS, TNCC required
  • 1 year of experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Performs duties as assigned and requested.
  • Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient’s condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
  • Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
  • Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
  • Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
  • This position will take call.
