As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you’ll play a critical role in guiding patients through their immediate recovery following surgery and procedures. Your clinical expertise, vigilance, and compassionate care will help ensure safe recoveries and positive outcomes during some of our patients’ most vulnerable moments. Requirements

  • Current state or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
  • One-year of previous PACU experience required
  • Must have a current state or compact state RN license.
  • Associate's degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties as assigned and requested.
  • Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient’s condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
  • Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
  • Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
  • Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
  • Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
  • Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
