About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and is a full-time position. The RN works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director, responsible for the comprehensive nursing care of assigned patients. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN may work in various settings within the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex at Riverside Health System. The role requires strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to develop patient care plans that consider physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The RN is also responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional staff to ensure optimal patient care. Competence in addressing age-related needs of patients in Critical Care/Telemetry units is essential. The RN collaborates with leadership and a multidisciplinary team to provide care in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and goals.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) - State Department of Health Professions (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)

Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
Critical care experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units/departments.
Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
Assesses and incorporates evidence-based standards of practice.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care.
Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care.
Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension.
Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education, and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver.
Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents.
Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met.
Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems to meet need.
Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care.
Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures.
