About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a full-time RN for day shift in their Outpatient Surgery Center in Charlottesville, VA. This position is 36 hours per week, operating within the center's hours. The Outpatient Surgery Center at Pantops provides high-quality care in a collaborative setting with registered nurses, surgical techs, sterile services, and support staff, all managed by an experienced team. The center includes dedicated admit recovery and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) services. With four operating rooms, it offers a variety of surgical services such as orthopedic, breast, gynecology, plastics, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, and pediatrics. Operating hours are typically Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, with no night or weekend shifts, although occasional variations may occur.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • 1 year of experience in Acute Nursing Care required.
  • Scrub and/or circulator experience in an OR.
  • Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience
  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
  • Communication with patients and providers

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • PALS within 1 year of hire.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
