About The Position

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic. Located on the second floor of our hospital, the clinic provides specialized follow-up care for patients continuing their recovery after hospitalization. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys building relationships with patients, providing specialized clinical care, and working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Our outpatient clinic primarily serves patients recovering from: Brain injuries, Spinal cord injuries, Stroke. We also care for patients with a variety of neurological and complex conditions, including: Multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Cerebral palsy, West Nile virus. As an RN in the clinic, you'll play an important role in helping patients manage their ongoing healthcare needs and continue making progress after their hospital stay.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Mississippi RN license
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Successful completion of MRC Nursing Orientation
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Compassionate approach to caring for patients with neurological and rehabilitation-related conditions

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to outpatient rehabilitation patients.
  • Assist with the ongoing medical management of patients with neurological and complex conditions.
  • Support pump management and related patient care.
  • Assist with Urology intrathecal baclofen (ITB) trials.
  • Perform and assist with TB readings.
  • Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns appropriately.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Assist with the daily workflow and efficient operation of the outpatient clinic.
  • Educate patients and families regarding their care and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Promote patient safety, independence, and continuity of care.
