About The Position

At National Jewish Health, Registered Nurses are vital partners in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care within a nationally recognized healthcare environment. RNs collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams to assess, plan, and implement high-quality nursing care while supporting patients and families across complex specialty programs. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, compassion, and advocacy, ensuring safe, coordinated care and an outstanding patient experience throughout the continuum of treatment. We are currently hiring Registered Nurses across multiple specialty clinics and care settings: Pulmonary Clinic - The Pulmonary Clinic provides care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. In this role, you’ll assess and manage patients with respiratory illnesses, develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, and educate patients and their families on respiratory health and disease management while supporting pulmonary testing and in-office procedures. ILD Clinic - The Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic delivers specialized care for patients with complex, chronic lung conditions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans, monitor patient progress and adjust treatments, and provide comprehensive education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care strategies. We’re seeking candidates with strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, a passion for high-quality patient care, and a preferred background in pulmonary medicine who are eager to stay current with advancements in ILD treatment. Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic – The GI Clinic provides comprehensive care for patients with digestive and liver-related conditions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans, monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed, and provide thorough patient and family education on disease management, treatment options, and self-care strategies. We’re seeking candidates with strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality GI care. Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Clinic - The AAI Clinic provides comprehensive care for adult patients with allergic, respiratory, and immune-related conditions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education on disease management, treatment options, and self-care strategies. We’re looking for individuals who bring strong clinical expertise, communicate clearly and compassionately, and are committed to providing exceptional specialty care. Registered Nurses work a Monday – Friday schedule, with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call required. Position Summary Accurately plans and provides professional nursing care for patients, groups, or populations a systematic approach incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of plan of care using a variety of formats, tools, and technologies. The Ambulatory Clinic Registered Nurse works in a specialty care clinic and is responsible and accountable for facilitation and management of care coordination across the healthcare continuum. Utilizes the nursing process to work with interdisciplinary teams to provide safe and personalized care. Demonstrates core competencies in the area of practice.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing required
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License and current BLS certification required upon hire for all areas.
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Excellent communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification preferred
  • Preferred background in pulmonary medicine

Responsibilities

  • Systematically collects or supervises the collection of focused data relating to health needs and concerns of a patient, group, or population in the ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnostic statements for health promotion, health maintenance, or health-related problems or issues.
  • Identifies expected and/or desired outcomes in a plan of care individualized for a specific patient, group, or population.
  • Develops a plan that identifies strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes in individuals and/or populations and acts on plan of care.
  • Ensures the plan of care reflects the cultural, spiritual, intellectual, age, educational, and psychosocial differences of individual patients, groups, or populations.
  • Practices care coordination and transition management (CCTM) coordinating the delivery of care in the ambulatory clinic setting and across health care settings.
  • Employs educational strategies that promote individual, community, and population health and safety.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of stated outcomes in plan of care.
  • Participates in projects, activities, committees, related to nursing and health care in clinical and organizational settings.
  • Participates in evidenced based practice and research strategies to advance ambulatory care nursing and improve patient outcomes.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Functions as a preceptor as assigned.
