About The Position

This is a Part Time (0.6 FTE) Day Shift position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Orthopedics Department at Lourdes Health, which is part of Lifepoint Health. The Orthopedics Department is a 10-bed unit focused on providing specialized care to patients, fostering a culture of teamwork and effective communication. Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • BCLS required
  • 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the Medical Surgical Orthopedics unit.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
