About The Position
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in an Orthopedic Surgery unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Orthopedics, Med/Surg, and Telemetry, along with prior travel experience and required certifications. This is a 30-bed Orthopedic Surgery Unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population with an average daily census of 15-20 patients and a patient ratio of 1:6. The role involves floating to Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN License (State-specific requirement)
- Minimum 1+ year of RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Demonstrated competency in Med/Surg and Telemetry
- Must successfully pass EKG competency exam
- Experience in Orthopedics
- Experience in Med/Surg
- Experience in MS/Telemetry
- Experience in Telemetry Monitoring
- Experience in IV Therapy & Phlebotomy
- Experience in Blood Product Administration
- Experience in Peripheral Line Care & IV Management
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic, adult, and geriatric patients
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as required
- Perform phlebotomy and manage peripheral lines and IV access
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
