About The Position

Sentara Health is currently hiring for an RN to work at Virginia Beach General Hospital on the 3 West Ortho/Trauma Unit. The 3 West Ortho/Trauma unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General specializes in providing expert care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and related complications. Our unit is comprised of 24 in-patient beds. Our patient population includes admissions from the Ortho Joint, Spine, Fracture, and Ortho/Trauma centers, as well as medical/surgical patients. The nursing unit enjoys a supportive team environment including resources such as a unit-based nurse educator, orthopedic navigator, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, nursing care partners, unit coordinators, charge nurse and manager. The unit has an active Unit-Based Partnership Council and participates in many hospital-wide Nurse led Councils. Kickstart your nursing career with Sentara’s dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program, designed specifically for new graduate RNs with less than one year experience. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, delivering treatments, and supporting patients and families with education and compassionate service. The RN collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress, make clinical adjustments, and advocate for the best patient outcomes, ensuring safety and adherence to evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • ADN required
  • Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
  • BLS within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher preferred
  • Less than one year experience (for Nurse Residency program)
